Technical cookies (always on)

Needed to run the website and the booking: they do not require consent (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code) and are not used to profile you.

• Site language (Italian/English) and display preferences.
• Temporary storage of the data you enter in the booking form (in your browser, for 48 hours), so you do not lose it if the page closes. Never payment data or documents.
• Storage of your cookie choice (accepted or declined), so the banner is not shown again.
• Parameters of the campaign you came from (e.g. utm), kept for the session to attribute the booking correctly.
• Abuse and bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile, when enabled) and security of the customer area sessions.

Anonymous website statistics (our own only)

To understand how the website is used and to improve the booking, we collect anonymous first-party statistics, without cookies and without third-party tools: pages viewed, searches (dates, duration, filters), cars viewed, booking steps, the optional answers to the "what stopped you?" survey and technical usage signals (where people click on the page, how far they scroll, how long each form field takes without its content, errors and page speed).

• A random session code, stored only in the browser tab (sessionStorage), links the pages of the same visit: it expires after 30 minutes of inactivity and is deleted when you close the tab.
• We do not record IP addresses, names, emails, phone numbers, delivery addresses, the content of the fields you fill in or personal links. About your arrival we only keep the channel (for example Google Ads), the campaign and the ad keyword, the referring domain, the device type, browser and operating system, and an approximate location (country, region and city derived from the network, never from GPS).
• Only if you accept cookies do we add a random code that recognises later visits from the same browser (localStorage); if you decline, it is deleted.
• The data stays on our systems, is never shared with third parties and is deleted automatically after 13 months.
• If you send a booking request or pay online, the visit is linked to the booking code: we only use this to understand which pages and campaigns bring bookings.
• If you arrive from our website gcauto.it through a "Book" button, the link carries the random code of your visit to that site (also cookie-free) and its name: we store them with this visit and remove them from the address straight away, to know which gcauto.it pages lead to bookings; if you book, that visit also stays linked to the booking.
